What would a painting sound like if it were music? The Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky tried it out and the result was his famous "Pictures at an Exhibition". In this piece, the vendors are squabbling at a bustling market, a limping gnome sneaks by, chirping chicks hatch from their eggshells and dance a ballet. Together with the orchestra and Malte Arkona, we also encounter the wicked witch Baba Yaga, meet children playing in the park, visit an old castle, and walk through the Great Gate of Kiev. Can't imagine it? Then come with your class to the Cultural Palace for the school concert!
The concert with Felix Mildenberger is supported by funding from the Society for the Administration of Neighboring Rights (GVL) as part of the concert promotion initiative FORUM DIRIGIEREN by the German Music Council.
