She is wild, cheeky, and wonderful, sometimes theatrical, original, and experimental. And yet always with both feet on the ground of international stages - often barefoot. Not only with her theatrical appearance does Patricia Kopatchinskaja show that she does not care about conventions. Her extraordinary character, combined with her virtuoso technical skill and natural musicality, has brought the violinist to the top of the world. As an unusual musical personality, her long-time chamber music partner Fazıl Say also stands out. The Turkish pianist touches in a directly gripping way that is rare in the world of classical music. They have known each other for over 20 years and they appreciate each other immensely, so it was obvious to invite them together to Dresden. In their program, they have included two self-composed pieces as well as Beethoven's famous and infamous Kreutzer Sonata. Infamous mainly because of its enormous technical demands, but also immensely beautiful - with wide melodic arches and varied movements, from the furious first movement to the meditative second and the exultant finale.Karol Szymanowski
