He steps onto the stage so focused that he doesn't even notice the audience. This is how Rudolf Buchbinder describes the beginning of a piano evening. In our series "Stars at the Piano," he can be experienced performing works by the composer he has known, played, and loved for over 60 years, and it is no wonder that Buchbinder is considered one of the foremost experts on Beethoven on the piano. However, even though he knows every note by heart, none of them ever bore him. The unique moods he can create in the concert hall as a result of this can be experienced by his Dresden audience in this solo evening – and in the end, of course, Rudolf Buchbinder also feels how he has touched and inspired the people in the hall... Rudolf Buchbinder

Austrian Rudolf Buchbinder is one of the grand masters of the piano. His playing combines tradition and innovation, and he can look back on a career spanning more than 60 years. He has set new standards, particularly in his interpretation of Beethoven's piano sonatas and concertos, which he has performed many times in the world's most famous concert halls. He has been the Artistic Director of the Grafenegg Festival since its inception and is also very interested in researching musical sources.
