About the Concert

"My head is full of ideas. If only one could write them down immediately" - Antonín Dvořák practically already had his new symphony in his head, but still had to finish a piano quartet. And what ideas he had for his Eighth Symphony! Right at the beginning of the first movement, the solo flute plays a bird motif, and he also took other liberties - inspired by the summer atmosphere at his country estate in Central Bohemia. Today, the symphony is considered a link between old Europe and the emerging America, where shortly thereafter his famous "Symphony from the New World" was created.
