Alexander Hauer was born in Trostberg in 1970 and is an actor, choreographer, and director. After studying acting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Ulm, he performed at various theaters in southern Germany before becoming a member of the ensemble at Theater Bremen from 2000 to 2004.
Since 2004, he has been working as a freelancer, developing interdisciplinary music, dance, and theater projects that uniquely combine movement, sound, and community. As founder and Artistic Director of OpusEinhundert, he has been initiating inclusive and intergenerational productions with up to 150 participants since 2011, bringing to life the interplay between professional art and participatory creativity.
Collaborations with orchestras such as the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, the Bremer Philharmoniker, and the Oldenburgisches Staatsorchester shape his work, as does the search for new forms of collective expression.
He has received numerous awards for his projects, including the MIXED UP Special Prize from the BKJ and the Bremen Diversity Prize. His most recent productions include the choral opera "Dido's Secret" (2022) and the scenic choral work "Lianen" (2023) by Jan Müller-Wieland with the Hannover Girls' Choir. Alexander Hauer is also Executive Board Member of the Bremer Landesverband Darstellende Künste (Bremen State Association for the Performing Arts).
