As a studied flutist with degrees from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Daniel Haupt was already involved in the field of music education during his studies. He held teaching positions at the Institute for Music Education at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and at the music branch of the Landesgymnasium Latina "A. H. Francke" in Halle. In addition to engagements as principal piccolo flutist with the Staatskapelle Halle and deputy principal flutist with the Loh-Orchester Sondershausen / Theater Nordhausen, he also studied cultural and media management at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. Before working as a music mediator at the Dresden Philharmonic, Daniel Haupt was head of event management and concert planning at the Kreuzkirche Dresden for several years.
