David Coral was born in Colombia. His musical education began at the age of 8 with traditional instruments from his homeland.
In 2008 he received his first horn lessons and two years later he was accepted to study horn as a major at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá. While there, he had the opportunity to play in various orchestras and ensembles, including the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Colombia. He also participated in international tours of the Filarmónica Joven de Colombia and YOA - Youth Orchestra of the Americas. During his studies, David Coral attended international master classes in Brazil and Germany and was taught by renowned horn players such as Marie-Luise Neunecker, Radovan Vlatkovic, Johannes Hinterholzer and Froydis Ree Wekre.
In 2016, he received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service, which allowed him to continue his horn studies in Germany. He completed a master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" in Weimar with Prof. Jörg Brückner and was a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. In 2018, he won his first position as a low horn player with the Meininger Hofkapelle. From there, he moved to the Dresden Philharmonic in March 2019.
David Coral has had the opportunity to perform with world-renowned orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester Hamburg and the WDR Sinfonieorchester.
