Johannes Pfeiffer studied oboe with Prof. Gerd-Albrecht Kleinfeld in his hometown of Berlin. After graduating in 2001, he became a member of the Orchestra Academy at the Staatskapelle Berlin e.V. and absorbed influences from numerous oboists of various Berlin orchestras. Just one year later he was engaged as Coordinated Principal Oboist with the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra. Guest engagements have taken him to the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the SWR Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, the Deutsches Sinfonieorchester Berlin and the renowned Munich Chamber Orchestra, among others.
In addition to orchestral activities and appearances as a concert soloist, Johannes Pfeiffer regularly devotes himself to chamber music. Together with members of leading German orchestras and leading newcomer formations such as the Morgenstern Trio or the Ensemble Mediterrain, he has given concerts in Germany, Brazil, South Korea, Switzerland and the Ukraine.
For several years Johannes Pfeiffer served as artistic director of a chamber concert series in Hartenstein/Saxony. As a great enrichment to his musical work, he also completed the three-year training path "Advanced Training and Study Course at the Lichtenberg Institute" in the summer of 2017. On an interdisciplinary scientific basis, its goal is to make the connections and mutual influences between sound (and vibration as its origin) on the one hand and the diverse involuntary realities of the body on the other hand tangible and usable.
