Joschua Lettermann completed a Master’s degree in music outreach at the Dresdner Musikhochschule, following earlier studies in school music education, both with piano as his principal subject and a specialisation in orchestral conducting. Beyond his studies, he has drawn attention as a pianist, most notably with the world premiere and first recording of the piano suite "La Settimana" by contemporary composer Rolf Meister.
As a conductor, he has appeared in symphony concerts and opera productions, and as part of assistantships and masterclasses. As a keen choral singer, he has also performed in numerous concerts at venues including the Frauenkirche Dresden, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Philharmonie Berlin, the Kulturpalast Dresden and the Archbasilica of St John Lateran in Rome, as well as on concert tours to Poland and Spain.
At the Dresdner Philharmonie, Joschua Lettermann regularly appears on stage in the short concert series "abgeFRACKt", while behind the scenes he works in orchestra management as a dramaturg, music educator and project manager. He is also active in orchestra management as chair of the board of the Werkstattorchester Dresden and as founder and manager of the young symphony orchestra MainSymphonics. In these settings, too, he regularly appears on stage as a presenter of concerts, including school concerts.
