Kinderchor Radost Praha

The Kinderchor Radost Praha was founded in 1961 by its choirmaster Vladislav Souček. The children of Radost have sung in more than twenty European countries, and in 1994 and 1997 they also visited Canada. The children's choir regularly takes part in international competitions, e.g. in Bratislava, Cantonigròs, Celje, Kaunas, Limburg-Lindenholzhausen, Llangollen, Montreux, Neerpelt, Preveza, Rimini, Tours and Warsaw. He has worked with the Czech Radio, the Czech Television and the Prague State Opera, with major professional ensembles such as the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, the Prague Philharmonic Choir, the Kühn Mixed Choir, the Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno, the Sedláček Quartet, the Stamic Quartet, Musica Bohemica and with a number of popular personalities, including Vojtěch Dyk, Zdeněk Svěrák, Jaroslav Uhlíř. In recent years, it has performed at the Bohuslav Martinů Days, the Dvořák Prague International Music Festival, Prague Spring, Prague Autumn and at Smetanova Litomyšl. The ensemble's repertoire covers all stylistic periods and various musical genres. Radost Praha also regularly premieres works by contemporary composers such as Eliška Cílková, Emil Hradecký and Pavel Jurkovič, and participates in recordings.
