Lydia Küllinger was born in Linz in 2001. Since the age of 6 she has received lessons in flute and piano. At the age of 12, she was accepted at the Academy for the Anton Bruckner Private University and was taught by Johanna Dömötör. Lydia then became a preliminary student and later a concert student in the class of Ildiko Deak. As part of her studies at the ABPU, she completed
a piccolo specialisation with Anneliese Fuchsluger and Ursula Pichler-Nikolov. After her bachelor's degree in Linz, which Lydia completed with honours, she continued her studies with Erwin Klambauer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
Lydia Küllinger is a multiple first prize winner at national and international competitions. At the Austrian music competition prima la musica, she has won several first prizes several first prizes at both state and national level. She was also first prize at the Giovani in Crescendo international music competition in Italy. As one of the youngest participants, she was awarded 2nd prize at the national Lions Music Competition. Lydia is a scholarship holder of the Josef Ratzenböck Scholarship, the Rotary Club Linz Süd and the first ever Soroptimist prize of the Soroptimistinnen Linz.
The young musician was able to gain orchestral experience at the Vienna Philharmonic's international Orchestra Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic in Attergau, in the Upper Austrian Youth Symphony Orchestra Upper Austria and at Oper im Berg in Salzburg. In recent years she has worked as a substitute at concerts of the Bruckner Orchestra and in the musical production Wie im Himmel. In addition, Lydia performed in the European opera project Crossoper with musicians from the Serbian National
orchestra in Novi Sad, numerous concerts in Serbia, Italy and at the regional theatre in Linz. Since 2022, after successfully passing the audition for flute, alto flute and piccolo, she has been a member of the Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra. In 2024, Lydia won the audition for the Vienna Symphony Orchestra's Summer Academy and was invited to perform at the Bregenz Festival. She has also been a
substitute at the Vienna Volksoper.
Since March 2025, Lydia Küllinger has been a member of the Kurt Masur Orchestra Academy of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and is continuing her studies at the Carl Maria by Weber Dresden.
She is studying in the orchestral master's programme at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria by Weber with the solo flutist of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra Kathrin Bäz and
with Prof. Stéphane Rèty.
