Petra Schmidt-Schaller

The audience knows Petra Schmidt-Schaller from film and television. Whether as a “Tatort” inspector alongside Wotan Wilke-Möhring, in countless award-winning films such as “Der Wagner-Clan”, “Das geteilte Glück”, “Wendezeit” or currently in the leading role of Lona Mendt in the crime mini-series “Die Toten von Marnow”.

She appeared alongside her father Andreas Schmidt-Schaller early on in “Soko Leipzig”, the place where she also completed her acting studies. The Magdeburg-born actress now lives in Berlin with her daughter, has received many film awards for her performances in German films and can look back on countless productions in film, television and theater. She also works as an audiobook narrator.

In Dresden, Petra Schmidt-Schaller will be appearing on stage alongside Ulrich Noethen, among others, in Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol” from December 2025; the two have already played leading roles together in films such as “A Fleeing Horse” and “I Want You”.
