Raúl González García

Violin

Born in 2002 in Santander, Spain, Raúl González García began violin lessons at the age of eight at the conservatory in his hometown.

Since 2017, he has performed in numerous regional and local youth orchestras, and in 2020 he began his bachelor’s studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón with Prof. Manuel Guillén. In the 2022/23 academic year, he studied as an exchange student at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig in the class of Prof. Friedemann Wezel.

In October 2023, he was admitted to the University of Music Freiburg, where he completed his bachelor’s degree under Prof. Muriel Cantoreggi, receiving additional instruction from Prof. Sebastian Hamann and Gunnar Persicke.

Raúl has served as concertmaster of the Festival Orchestra of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival (SHMF) as well as of the Basque Country Youth Orchestra (EGO). In 2024 and 2025, he performed as a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (GMJO). He has also been engaged for projects with the National Theatre for Opera and Ballet in Chișinău and with the Basque National Orchestra (Euskadiko Orkestra).

He has appeared at various festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, Bolzano Festival Bozen, George Enescu International Festival, Baltic Sea Festival, Dvořák Prague Festival, Festival Internacional de Santander, and Festival de Música y Danza de Granada.

In the 2024/25 season, Raúl González García was an academy member of the Hessian State Orchestra Wiesbaden.

Since August 2025, he has been a member of the Kurt Masur Academy of the Dresdner Philharmonie.
