Born in Dresden, Sigrun Rottstädt] grew up with music. Even as a child, she sang in the Philharmonic Children's Choir and learnt to play the piano. Her passion for music and culture later led her to study musicology and history in Dresden and Vienna.
Her love of discovery and her talent for speaking led her to radio. For almost 20 years now, she has been enthusiastically reporting on the diverse cultural life in Saxony. In her reports, she takes listeners behind the scenes of theatres, opera houses and other venues and lets them participate in the world of culture up close.
In addition to her work as a radio presenter, Sigrun Rottstädt is also frequently on stage herself. She presents concerts, theatre plays and other events and enjoys the direct audience reaction as a welcome change from her everyday radio work.
