Stefan Foidl is the conductor of the Wiener Chormädchen.
Foidl studied choral conducting, composition and jazz at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the University of Miami/USA, among others.
During his studies, Stefan Foidl was assistant to Günther Theuring at the Vienna Jeunesse Choir and choirmaster at the Vienna Tonkunstvereinigung. He later founded the Vienna Jazz Choir, with which he gave concerts for many years (Montreux Jazz Festival, Tyrolean Easter Festival, Freiburger Münstersommer, opening of the Vienna Festival Weeks and a Ward Swingle Award at VokalTotal in Graz). Foidl received the Composition Prize of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the Downbeat Award as a member of the Vocal Jazz Ensemble of the University of Miami and in 2015 the Erwin Ortner Fund Prize for the Promotion of Choral Music. Stefan Foidl is also active as a lecturer at various festivals: Kremser Chorakademie, International Singing Week Zell/Pram, Stimmenfestival Freistadt, Erlangener Chortage.
