Theresia Thamm has been working at the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra since August 2023. In her position, she is responsible for project management for the Kurt Masur Academy as well as coordinating the orchestra's sustainability strategy, in addition to a wide range of tasks within the general management of Frauke Roth.
She previously gained practical experience as a cultural manager in various renowned institutions, including the Komische Oper Berlin and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. She also worked in the events office at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar, where she was involved in organizing the Weimar Masterclasses, the International Louis Spohr Competition and the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition. Her voluntary work has led her to event formats such as Klangrausch Weimar and the Yiddish Summer Weimar.
Theresia Thamm began her academic career at the Philipps University of Marburg in the Bachelor's degree program “Kunst, Musik, Medien: Organisation und Vermittlung”, which she supplemented with a stay abroad at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain). She then studied Cultural Management and Musicology at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar and completed her Master's degree with a thesis on the further development of the audition process in professional orchestras.
