Program
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Symphony in A major, K. 201
Richard Strauss
"Der Rosenkavalier" Suite
In our abFRACKt series, a few things are different: the concert only lasts an hour at most, the musicians don't play in black tails and nobody has to worry about clapping in the wrong place.
And you certainly don't need any special knowledge to understand the music "correctly". Just come, listen and be surprised. And if you do want to find out a little more about the music, download the free Wolfgang app onto your smartphone and let yourself be guided through the respective work live in concert.
Afterwards, we invite you to stay in our foyers, enjoy our abFRACKt cocktail (also available non-alcoholic) in the "Tutti" café, have a glass of wine or beer and relax, chat or simply look out over the city from the balcony. Children are welcome, the Wolfgang app is suitable for children of reading age and above.
About the concert:
Many people dream of doing something completely different from everything that has gone before, even in music. Mozart did it! In the symphony we play in this concert, he broke away from the models and introduced some ideas that were completely new at the time, such as the gentle melody of the strings in the slow movement, which at the same time play rhythmically like a pendulum. Also new was what Richard Strauss incorporated into the opening bars of his opera "Der Rosenkavalier," namely a climax that anticipates the erotic entanglements of the plot. As always at abFRACKt with information about the music that will be played during the concert on the Wolfgang APP!
