About the Concert

Like every year, we start the summer with an atmospheric film music evening! This time, animes are in charge, or rather: setting the tone! We will be playing the music from the most famous anime films from the two major centers of animation culture: Tokyo and Hollywood.

Benjamin Pope

Conductor

Conductor, composer and arranger Benjamin Pope has already conducted in concert halls and opera houses around the world. He specializes in ballet and dance music, as well as live accompaniment of films and film sequences. John Williams and Disney have officially recognized him as the conductor of the iconic "Star Wars" music. He is also committed to music education, including as principal conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's education program "RPO Resound".

Tom Wlaschiha

From "Game of Thrones" and "Stranger Things" to the Kulturpalast: actor, presenter, and voice actor Tom Wlaschiha speaks six languages and is known to many people from film and television. Now he is entering the world of classical music as the narrator in "Die Abenteuer der kleinen Trompete" (The Adventures of the Little Trumpet) at the Dresden School Concert.
