Organ and Bruckner - it is no coincidence that in this concert the organ concerto by the Finn Sebastian Fagerlund is heard in the same concert as the Third Symphony of the Romantic Anton Bruckner. Broad chords, towering sound masses, resonant brass instruments, long pauses - Bruckner was an organist with body and soul, and he also inscribed this in his symphonies. For his contemporaries, his style was initially so unusual that they rejected it, his Third Symphony (which he dedicated to his great idol Richard Wagner) was no exception, many listeners left the hall during the premiere. For us today, this is rather incomprehensible, we have long appreciated Bruckner's magic of sound, his incomparable orchestral colors, and the energy that emanates from his music.Sebastian Fagerlund
