With fiery tango rhythms and George Gershwin's unmistakable mix of jazz and Broadway, "Viva la vida" musically travels from South to North America. In the year of the accordion, the remarkable sound diversity of the accordion is also in the spotlight. And in honour of his 240th birthday, Carl Maria von Weber will also be celebrated...

Biographies

Jong-Jie Yin

As one of the most exciting young talents, Chinese-born conductor Jong-Jie Yin is a sought-after guest with orchestras in Europe and Asia. Praised by Yannick Nézet-Séguin for "his energy, his maturity and his huge potential", he reached the finals of the Herbert von Karajan Young Conductors Award in 2025 after winning the Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition in 2023. He has been an Assistant Conductor with the China National Symphony Orchestra since September 2023.

Ksenija Sidorova

Ksenija Sidorova is hailed as "revelatory" and praised for her vibrant stage presence and virtuosity. The Riga-born musician is regarded as a leading ambassador for the classical accordion and continually contributes to expanding the repertoire for her instrument by commissioning new works from contemporary composers and entering into special collaborations. She performs with leading orchestras worldwide as well as in chamber music ensembles and as a soloist
