Charlie Chaplin

The silent film classic "Modern Times" on the big screen, accompanied live by the orchestra

About the Concert

Tickets for this event will be available from 12.06.2024 from 10 am.

After assembly line worker Chaplin first gets caught between the gears of a gigantic machine and minutes later has to serve as a guinea pig for a newly developed feeding machine, he goes crazy and runs amok. No sooner has he been released from the mental hospital than the next mishap befalls him. The film, which Charlie Chaplin made as a screenwriter, director, leading actor and composer as a one-man operation, so to speak, is a legend today and almost as relevant as it was 100 years ago. Together with the live music, it is an absolute must for all fans of silent films!

In cooperation with the Europäische FilmPhilharmonie and the 10th Dresden Silent Film Festival
