About the Concert
Attention: Tickets for this event will be available at a later date through the 'Long Night of the Theaters'.
Recorder? Anyone can play it! How wrong this prejudice is becomes evident at a concert with Dorothee Oberlinger. She conjures sounds from the small instrument with a virtuosity that is unforgettable. In our concert, she will perform, among other pieces, the one by Terry Riley, which essentially introduced Minimal Music to the world. A music that can create an incredible pull with just a few notes. But one can also hardly resist the pull of the flute, especially when played by Marianna Julia Zolnacz, our new solo flutist.
A musical celebration for flute fans and those who could become one!
Program
Georg Friedrich Handel Concerto Grosso in D major
Georg Philipp Telemann Concerto for Recorder and Flute in E minor
The recorder player, ensemble leader and conductor Dorothee Oberlinger is one of the internationally influential personalities in the field of early music. In addition to numerous international engagements, she has also performed as a soloist with her own Ensemble 1700 since 2002. She has also participated in projects with new music and the avant-garde. The director of the Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival and the Arolsen Baroque Festival also teaches as a professor at the Salzburg Mozarteum.
"She is one of the most outstanding and fascinating artists of the younger generation. Her creations and remarkable performances are the prelude to a tremendous career. The combination of an excellent technique with musicality, sensitivity, diligence and a great love for the art of flute playing form a combination of elements that few possess." -Paweł Gusnar, luminary of Polish music
