About the Concert

Tickets for this event will be available from 12.06.2024 from 10 am.

It was none other than Goethe who inspired the stroke of genius of the just sixteen-year-old Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy with one of his poems. His chamber music for eight strings, the famous Octet, made him famous in one fell swoop and cemented his reputation as a child prodigy who had grown up. To this day, it is impossible to escape the freshness, inspiration, abundance of wonderful melodies and surprising musical twists and turns of this work. It could therefore hardly be more fitting that very young musicians should play it in our concert: Members of the Kurt Masur Academy present their skills together with experienced Philharmoniker.
