About the Concert

Tickets for this event will be available from 12.06.2024 from 10 am.

There are organ concerts and then there are very special organ concerts. When palace organist Olivier Latry picks up the keys together with his wife, the grandiose sound of the concert hall becomes an even more impressive sound event. But that's not all: the two have also invited dancers for this concert! And so Stravinsky's famous ballet music becomes not just an organ piece, but real dance theater. A spectacle for the eyes and ears that is certainly very rare.

Biographies

Olivier Latry

The French organist Olivier Latry is an accomplished, thoughtful and adventurous musician who explores all possible areas of organ music and has an extraordinary talent for improvisation. He became titular organist of Notre-Dame de Paris at the age of 23 and launched his international career from there. His concerts repeatedly take him to the fantastic Eule organ in the Kulturpalast, where he will once again be the palace organist in 2024/25.

Shin-Young Lee

The Korean-born organist Shin-Young Lee, who has made Paris her adopted home, impresses with her deep musicality and witty concert programmes in which she combines original literature with transcriptions that she often writes herself. She can be heard in organ-only concerts as well as together with orchestras. She is also often asked to be a jury member for competitions and enjoys giving masterclasses for young organists.
