About the Concert
Richard Wagner is known for his overwhelming operas. Through the power of a love potion, Tristan and Isolde are fatefully drawn to each other, but Princess Isolde is promised to Marke, the king and Tristan's liege lord. In secret, the lovers live out their connection, which inevitably must be discovered and lead to a catastrophe. Wagner has found a musical language for this, which one can hardly resist despite its excessive length...

Pablo Heras-Casado has achieved remarkable success conducting repertoire spanning from early music and historically informed performance to great symphonic and operatic literature as well as contemporary works.
The Australian Stuart Skelton is one of the best heldentenors of our time and is praised for his outstanding musicality, the beauty of his voice and his intense dramatic portrayals. His operatic repertoire includes Tristan and Florestan as well as the title roles in "Lohengrin", "Parsifal", "Otello" and "Peter Grimes". His concert repertoire includes Mahler's "Lied von der Erde", Beethoven's Missa solemnis and Elgar's "The Dream of Gerontius".
The German soprano Anja Kampe has set international standards with great success in many of her role portrayals, including Brünnhilde, Kundry, Sieglinde, Isolde, Senta, Katerina Ismailova, Leonore, Minnie and Marie. She has sung in almost every musical metropolis in the world and is a regular guest at the state operas in Vienna, Munich and Berlin. In concert, she can be heard in Verdi's Requiem, Wagner's "Wesendonck Lieder", Schönberg's "Gurrelieder" and Beethoven's Ninth.
The mezzo-soprano Marina Prudenskaya comes from Saint Petersburg and delights audiences with her dark, velvety voice on international stages, including regularly at the Bayreuth Festival. She has been a member of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin ensemble since 2013, where she recently appeared as Herodias ("Salome") and Ortrud ("Lohengrin"), among others. She has also enjoyed great success on the concert stage, including Verdi's Requiem, Mahler's "Lied von der Erde" and Janáček's "Glagolitic Mass".
Georg Zeppenfeld, a renowned bass from Attendorn in Westphalia (Germany), began his musical journey with a teaching degree in Music and German Studies. At the same time, he perfected his talent in concert and opera singing at the prestigious music academies in Detmold and Cologne, where he completed his training under the guidance of Hans Sotin.
Born in Dresden, baritone Sebastian Wartig received his first voice training in the Dresden Kreuzchor. From 2013 to 2015, he was a member of the young ensemble of the Saxon State Opera, where he has been a permanent member since 2015, appearing as Morales ("Carmen"), Melot ("Tristan und Isolde"), Harlequin ("Ariadne auf Naxos"), Papageno ("Zauberflöte"), Doctor Falke ("Fledermaus"), Belcore ("L'elisir d'amore") and in gala concerts, among others. He has also made guest appearances in Basel, Grafenegg and Klagenfurt.
