Clemens Krieger received his first cello lessons at the age of 9. He studied at the HfM in Detmold, first with Prof. Irene Güdel, then with Prof. Marcio Carneiro and passed the State Music Teacher Examination, the Artistic Maturity Examination and the Concert Examination. During his studies he taught as an assistant to Prof. Marcio Carneiro and actively participated in master classes with Myklos Perenyi, Arto Noras (with a DAAD scholarship) and with Daniel Schafran. Clemens Krieger has played as principal cellist with the BBC-Scottish Symphony Orchestra Glasgow, the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz and the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 1992 he has been a member of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and holds a teaching position at the Hochschule für Musik "Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden.
