Concertmaster
in the orchestra since 1999

Dalia Stulgyté-Richter was born in Lithuania and received her first violin lessons from her father (a student of David Oistrakh). She graduated from the University of Music in Lübeck in 1995 with a diploma under Petru Munteanu, followed by a concert exam with Zakhar Bron. She worked as concertmaster with the Rias Youth Orchestra, the Philharmonia of Nations and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra before joining the Dresden Philharmonic in 1999 as deputy concertmaster.

Dalia Stulgyté-Richter has won prizes at numerous competitions, including the Schöntal Monastery Violin Competition (1989 and 1992), the Wieniawski Competition in Lublin (Poland, 1988 and 1992) and the Chamber Music Competition in Trieste (2001). She also gives guest performances internationally as a soloist and has held an honorary professorship in Lithuania since 2001.
