Katharina Konradi

Katharina Konradi comes from Bishkek/Kyrgyzstan and came to Germany at the age of 15. It was there that her special musicality was discovered at school, and thanks to her unique voice, trained by Julie Kaufmann in Berlin and Christiane Iven in Munich, the artist was able to make singing her passionate profession.

After starting her career with a three-year contract at the Hessian State Theatre in Wiesbaden, the artist made her debut as Ännchen ("Der Freischütz") at the Hamburg State Opera in 2018 and has been a permanent member of the ensemble ever since. She sings the most important roles in her fach. The young soprano quickly attracted the attention of other major theatres. In the 2024/25 season, she can be seen as Oscar in a new production of "Un ballo in maschera" at the Zurich Opera, as Adele in "Die Fledermaus" in Munich, as Gilda in "Rigoletto" and as Susanna in "Le nozze di Figaro" at the Hamburg State Opera.

In addition to these productions, her main focus is on various concert projects, which she has sung under leading conductors such as Thomas Hengelbrock, Daniel Harding, Manfred Honeck, Paavo Järvi, Kent Nagano and Gustavo Dudamel. She will begin the 2024/25 season with concerts in Paris (Fauré's Requiem) and Munich and St Florian (Bruckner's Mass in F minor) under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock and will continue with, among others, Mozart's Requiem under Philippe Herreweghe in Ghent and on tour in Dresden, Hamburg and Munich with the Dresden Philharmonic under the Kreuzkantor Martin Lehmann, Mozart's Mass in C minor under Kent Nagano in the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and, for the first time, Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Berlin Philharmonic under Kirill Petrenko in Baden Baden.

The Lied is a particular passion of the young soprano. She regularly gives recitals at international venues such as the Schubertíada in Vilabertran (Catalonia), the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Elbphilharmonie and the Schubertiade in Hohenems/Schwarzenberg.

Katharina Konradi's art has also been recorded on CD. The new duo album "Echoes" with mezzo-soprano Catriona Morison and Ammiel Bushakevitz on piano has just been released on the CAvi-music label in collaboration with SWR2. In April 2024, the album "Solitude" was released by Berlin Classics, with songs by Hugo Wolf, Clara and Robert Schumann, György Kurtág, Franz Schubert and others, accompanied by the Cosmos Quartet. The highly acclaimed recording "Insomnia" with songs by Franz Schubert (accompanied by Ammiel Bushakevitz on piano and guitar) was also released by Berlin Classics. In March 2022, the Chandos label released the recording "Russian Roots" with the Trio Gaspard. Her highly acclaimed recordings of Mozart Masses with the Bavarian Radio Choir and Haydn's "Creation" with the International Bach Academy Stuttgart under Hans-Christoph Rademann were also released by Naxos in 2022.
