Armenian soprano Lilit Davtyan is a graduate of the Yerevan State Conservatory. In 2016, she was admitted to the Conservatory's piano department while continuing her vocal studies, receiving her bachelor's degree in 2020 followed by a master's degree in 2022. From 2018 to 2021, she worked as an accompanist while simultaneously performing as a singer at the Yerevan State Conservatory Opera Studio.
From 2021 to 2023, Lilit Davtyan was a member of the Bolshoi Theatre Young Artists Opera Programme in Moscow, studying with its Artistic Director, Dmitry Vdovin. She has also participated in masterclasses with Malcolm Martineau, Sergei Leiferkus, Ildar Abdrazakov, Evamaria Wieser, Semion Skigin, Alessandro Amoretti, Giulio Zappa, Mzia Bakhtouridze and many others.
Alongside her studies, Lilit Davtyan has enjoyed considerable success in international competitions, receiving First Prize at the XII International Competition-Festival of Young Performers (Russia, 2016), First Prize at the Concorso Internazionale Musicale Città di Pesaro (2019), Second Prize and the Special Prize at the José Carreras Grand Prix of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation in Moscow (2021), and the Special Prize for the interpretation of Rachmaninoff songs at the International Rachmaninoff Competition in Moscow (2022). She was also a finalist in the 2022 Neue Stimmen Competition and a semi-finalist in Plácido Domingo's Operalia Competition in 2024.
In 2023, Lilit Davtyan participated in the Salzburg Festival Young Singers Project, performing Der Lehnstuhl, Die Prinzessin and Die Fledermaus in Ravel's "L'Enfant et les sortilèges", and appearing as a soloist in the Herbert von Karajan Young Conductors Award under first prize winner Hankyeol Yoon. She also appeared at the Salzburg Festival in Prokofiev's "The Gambler" and later returned for concert performances of Mozart's "Lucio Silla".
She joined the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensemble for the 2023/24 season and continues with the company through the 2026/27 season. Her roles there have included Gilda in Verdi's "Rigoletto", Papagena and Pamina in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte", Corinna in Rossini's "Il viaggio a Reims", Lauretta in Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi" and Suor Genovieffa in his "Suor Angelica", Marzellina in Beethoven's "Fidelio", Susanna in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro", and Hirt in Wagner's "Tannhäuser".
Further highlights include Cleopatra in Handel's "Giulio Cesare" at Teatro Petruzzelli Bari, soprano soloist appearances with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in Mahler's Symphony No. 4, and performances at Musikfest Berlin in Nono's "Canti di vita e d'amore".
In the 2026/27 season, Lilit Davtyan appears as Pamina in "Die Zauberflöte", as Susanna in "Le nozze di Figaro", as well as Gilda in "Rigoletto" at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Frasquita in "Carmen" at the Semperoper Dresden, Pamina at the Festival de Sanxay, Morgana in Handel's "Alcina" at Opéra de Lille under Emmanuelle Haïm, and as soprano soloist in Handel's "Messiah" with Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano.
