Magdalena Brouwer

Music has accompanied Magdalena Brouwer her entire life. She has been playing the violin since the age of 3 and discovered her love for the horn at the age of 9. She gained experience in youth orchestras with both instruments, playing the violin in the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie at the age of 12 and the horn in the Bundesjugendorchester since 2022. As a member of these orchestras, she has played at the Vienna Musikverein, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, among others. Since October 2023, she has been studying horn at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she is expanding her knowledge of music history and theory across a wide range of musical genres in addition to her main artistic subject.
Her great passion is to share her joy and enthusiasm for music and to introduce children and other young people to the different facets of classical music in a way that is “suitable for everyday life” and at eye level, and to get them excited about it. At the age of 16, she presented her first school concert with the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra alongside Malte Arkona at the beginning of 2023 and has since been a regular guest with Malte at the Kulturpalast. She has also developed and presented the concepts for the school concerts on the Bundesjugendorchester's tours in 2024 together with other members of the orchestra.
