Omer Ein Zvi

At just 19 years old, Omer Ein Zvi was awarded the Neeme Järvi Prize at the 2024 Gstaad Conducting Academy, impressing with his enormous conducting talent and depth of musical expression. In 2021, he founded the Eroica Orchestra at the Music Centre in his hometown of Ra'anana, Israel, to explore the orchestral repertoire with like-minded people and take his first steps as a conductor; the five concert projects to date have included works by Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Elgar and Dvořák.

 

Omer Ein Zvi received his first conducting lessons at the age of 12, closely following the start of his training on the violin and viola. As a violist, he played in various ensembles such as the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra and the Barenboim-Said Academy Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim. He was a member and conductor of the Raanana Youth Symphony Orchestra and assisted Ariel Zuckermann and Ilan Volkov with orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic and Israel Chamber orchestras, Brussels Philharmonic, Stavanger Symphony, 21st Century Ensemble and Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina. He attended masterclasses with Robert Spano, Mark Stringer and Johannes Schlaefli, as well as the conducting programmes at Tanglewood, Aspen and Gstaad Festivals. In the 2023/24 season, he made his German conducting debut with Dresden Philharmonic, leading two outreach concerts.

 

Since October 2023, Omer Ein Zvi has been studying conducting with Markus Stenz at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin and joined Intermusica as mentee.
