Henry Philipp

Deputy Solo Clarinettist
in the orchestra since 1982

Prof. Henry Philipp studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden with Prof. Josef Oehl from 1976 to 1982. He successfully participated in music competitions in Markneukirchen and at the "Prague Spring". Before he was engaged in the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra in 1982, he was a substitute in the same orchestra for two years. He is a lecturer at the Dresden Academy of Music and was appointed professor there in 2011.
