Roman Knižka was born in 1970 in Bautzen. He initially trained as a theatrical carpenter at the Semperoper and left the GDR for the West via the Green Border before the fall of the Berlin Wall. After studying at the Bochum Drama School, he first performed at the local theatre and then began to make a name for himself in a wide range of TV films, cinema productions, and streaming services. In addition, he regularly records audiobooks and is successfully active on stage throughout Germany, not least with the wind quintet opus45. His distinctive, versatile, and captivating voice delights both children and adults alike.
