Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" transports the audience into a vibrant world of the tales from "One Thousand and One Nights". The music thrives on strong contrasts, with powerful orchestral sounds meeting a smooth solo violin that embodies the storyteller Scheherazade. Each of the four movements narrates its own scene full of adventure, romance, and mystery. Rimsky-Korsakov was a master of orchestration, and one can almost hear waves, storms, and exotic landscapes. A recurring melody from the solo violin connects the episodes like a red thread. An imaginative sound journey (not only) for all who love fairy tales!

At our abgeFRACKt concerts, things are a bit different: The orchestra does not wear tails on stage. No one need fear clapping at the wrong moment.
Those who wish to learn more about the music can download the free Wolfgang app onto their smartphone and receive live explanations about the work during the concert. Afterwards, we invite you to stay and enjoy the abgeFRACKt cocktail (also non-alcoholic), the house lemonade, a glass of wine or beer at Café "Tutti", to relax and chat with the musicians of the orchestra.Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov
